QUIET and SMOOTH! First, let me say that I read a jillion reviews before deciding on the Captiva. Why? The excellent 2 year in-home labor warranty, and the long warranty on parts. That said that the elliptical is made well. (We did get the extended warranty too). It took me right at 3 and a half hours to put it together, with just a teeny bit of help from my wife lifting a couple of things while I connected them. The instructions were OK, but not great. (A few of the parts numbers were wrong, and you could tell it was written at times by someone who didn't have a mastery of the English language). But it was packed awesome, and every part was in the box, so perfect! After it was assembled, we rode it, and it was amazingly smooth and quiet. There was a noise from one of the arms, but I just needed to tighten one of the bolts that said do NOT overtighten, and it was perfect. I rode for 30 minutes for my first time on it, and it was super-smooth and amazingly quiet the entire time. The fan even blew on me! I didn't try the iPod connector, because I'll have a TV or stereo on in the room every time anyway. All in all, a GREAT experience, and a GREAT elliptical!

Well used We bought in the summer of 2011. Our whole family, ranging from 5'2" to 6'3" has been using it. It is quiet enough to watch TV, and also for others beside me to watch TV while I am on it. I have found the intensity generally not as high as when I go running, but the Captiva works better for me because it is a better whole body work out.

KNOCKING SOUND I HAVE HAD MY CAPTIVAL ABOUT TWO WEEKS. I HAVE FOR THE MOST PART BEEN PLEASED. DELIVERY WAS FAST AND PROFESSIONAL BUT NOT A LOT OF CHOICE ON DELIVERY DATES IF YOU DIDN'T WANT IT DELAYED. ASSEMBLY TOOK MY HUSBAND ABOUT 4-5 HRS. HE SAID IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE IT ASSEMBLED. I AM VERY ANOYED AT A KNOCKING SOUND THAT I HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING IN TOUCH WITH ANY ONE ABOUT. IT IS A GOOD WORK OUT THAT YOU CAN MAKE AS CHALLENGING OR EASY AS YOU WISH. THE FEW THINGS I DON'T CARE FOR IS THAT WHEN YOU CHOSE YOUR USER YOU HAVE TO SCROLL THROUGH ALL YOUR INFORMATION EACH TIME. (IE: HEIGHT, WEGHT, GENDER) THE PROGRAMS COULD BE EXPLAINED BETTER IN THE BROCHURE AND EASIER INSTRUCTIONS ON ALL THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR MAKING YOUR OWN PROGRAMS. IF THE KNOCKING SOUND WERE GONE I WOULD GIVE IT A 5.

Outstanding Machine I just got my Captiva. I put it together in about three hours...not too bad but you have to follow the instructions very carefully. I have been using an elliptical at the gym for about 4 years. (Commercial grade Precor), and I must say, the workout on the Captiva is amazing. It whipped my butt. The rotating handles force you to use more muscles than just your legs. I especially like the way it engages the core muscles. I'm a 6' 3" guy so I was very worried about spending this much money on something I wasn't able to try first. I am very happy with the quality and the design. This machine is by far the best I have ever used (commercial machines included). My only suggestion is for Yowza to create some full length workout videos for the Captiva.

WOW! Just did my first working on my new Captiva and I feel great! It is very smooth and quiet (almost silent) and my knees and ankles are NOT SORE! I already feel the core ab workout results as well as leg and arm muscles. All good!
Assembly was straight forward and took about 1.5 hours. It is a heavy machine so be sure you have help to set it up.
I strongly recommend this machine and am really pleased with my purchase.

Simply The Best! Excellent Machine. I'm 45, 6ft3in, about 300 lbs. Wife is 50, and 5ft6in, and 200 lbs. We had our first work-out together this morning, and we absolutely loved it. I burned 358 calories on a 30 minute workout, with max heart-rate of 159, and an average of about 149. I ordered on Monday, and had it delivered by Thursday in Maryland. That in itself was amazing!! I put it together myself, by myself, and it took about 4 hours. But, I took my time, laid out all the parts and was not in a hurry. Assembly may not be for everyone, but I personally hate paying someone to put something together, so I put everything together myself. Looked absolutely great in our new work-out room. Very, very solid. I have spend hundreds of hours on machines at health clubs, on all different types of ellipiticals, and the Yowza was just as solid, with even more features than health club machines. This obviously is the first ellipitical with the side-to-side motion, and it was my FIRST Experience with the adjustable stride length. Also, the resistance is NO JOKE. All-in-all, an incredible machine. I hope to hit my goal of 225 with the help of this machine. Thank you.

Love, Love, Love the Captiva! We were amazed that our Yowza was delivered to us in Canada within 5 days! My husband took a couple of hours to put it together - he was really pleased with the quality.
Our family loves this eliptical and feel it's better than the elipticals at our local gym.

New Fan! Ordered and received in less than 7 days. Delivery guy had trouble with his tail-lift and injured the Captiva slightly but this was immediately and promptly addressed by customer service and it did not impact usage. My wife, who loves the elliptical at the gym tried it first and was overwhelmed quickly by the intensity of the workout. I followed and found it refreshingly stressful to complete even 30 minutes. This machine is amazing and after trying several different workout options I know I have purchased the best machine on the market.
Yes, the assembly is cumbersome and there are some difficulties with the manual. If your not very mechanically inclined, pay the fee to have it assembled in your home...you will be glad you did. If you are, still plan to give it 2-3 hours.
If your concern is cost, so was mine, however, a modest full service gym membership for 2.5yrs and this is paid for. Awesome machine will defininately recommend it to my friends.

CAPTIVA ELLIPTICAL ROCKS! I ordered my Captiva on a Sunday morning. By the following Friday it was delivered to my home. Thats right five total days from order to delivery!
The elliptical arrived in perfect condition. It was Wrapped in 12 pounds of cardboard, bubble wrap and styrofoam. It took nearly 15 minutes to uncrate the pieces for assembly.
Assembly was straight forward with all parts labeled and tools for assembly included. Assembly took 30 minutes.
It took roughly 15 minutes for clean up and I was set to use this piece of art for the first time.
I should give you a little background. I am a hybrid athlete who trains twice a day six times per week. I stand 6'2 and weigh 230 pounds with sub 10% body fat. I have an extensive home gym and have high end equipment from Nautilus and Life fitness.
When I decided to purchase an elliptical I was looking for something similar to or better than an Octance fitness elliptical that I use when I do go to a gym. After extensive research I decided to go with the Yowza Captiva sight unseen.
My first workout on this machine was an easy 3 minute warm up with ramping my heart rate to 165 bpm and then holding for 20 minutes and then a short cool down.
This machine is rock solid! Absolutely whisper quiet and performs flawlessly. Now only time will tell on how it will hold up, but if workout one is any indication it should be a winner.
If you are looking for a gym quality piece of equipment at a reasonable price you cannot lose with this machine. Plus it looks like a piece of art!
