Yowza Fitness is proud to introduce Cardio-Core Training made simple!!!
The Captiva Variable Motion Elliptical (VME) allows users to change the motion of their elliptical stride on the fly. Go from an 18" easy motion to a large 32" hurdling type motion or anywhere in between. The Captiva is great for interval training and is perfect for every member of the family, regardless of their height, age or physical condition.
The innovation does not stop there. Yowza's patented counter-rotational Core motion targets the muscles of internal and external obliques, rectus abdominus and Serratus anterior like no other cardio machine.

| Melissa Noland | Favorite ellipticalI bought this elliptical after doing alot of research on them. I had previously purchased a nordic track elliptical 4 years prior. I was having some issues with it and wanted more out of an elliptical. I was amazed when i first saw the captiva. Wow, was i impressed when we got it. It took 4 days to deliver it from time of order, that was even weekend days. Took approximately 2 hours for my husband and I to assemble it together, easy to follow instructions. Tried it the next day for an hour on fat burning, with the motion on hurdling. Wow what a workout. I was very impressed. Very fluid movements, super quiet, and very intense. I was in love from the first time, lol. I would recommend this for anybody. I even like it better than commercial ellipticals at the gym. It's very durable, and did not notice any rocking motion. Its a gem for the money. Best of luck with your decision. | 5 | | Michael S. | Good machine, with a little work, could be exceptionalFirst I would like to say that this is a quality machine. It is smooth, quite, and seems well built. The arm motion is comfortable and I like it better than the "ski pole" types I have used before.
Putting together the unit took about 90 minutes. I was doing it mainly by myself, but I need help for a few steps. for one person to assemble would be problematic. The instructions were OK, the diagrams could have been larger. I did call the company to place my order. The salesperson that I spoke with was helpful. And when I e-mail him with questions, I quickly got a reply.
I do have a few issues. The first is the 60 Day money back guarantee. If someone where to want to send the machine back, The refund policy is as follows
Procedure to obtain refund:
1 Obtain an RMA number from Customer Service within 60 days of delivery,
2 Return all equipment in the original packaging
3 Prepay and insure return freight, and ship the unit back to our returns warehouse address as shown on the RMA form
Here is the problem. You are instructed to cut apart the original packaging just to get it out of the box. And once you assemble the machine, it would be next to impossible to get it unassembled and back into the original packaging even if you didn't cut the box up. And then to ship it back to Florida would cost at least $150. So in my opinion, the money back guarantee is misleading.
The other issue I have is the "fit and finish" of the plastic covers and trim. Not so much the plastic covers themselves, but the screws that attach them to the frame. Here is my issue:
1. It seems that the screws that attach plastic parts to the frame are just a little to large for the holes that they go into. And the screws are of such poor grade they strip out the head before they can be tightened enough to securely fasten the plastic part. It seems this would be fairly easy to fix and would make assembling the unit much easier. | 4 | | Chris P. | CaptivaI researched the Ellipticals like I was testing for a final exam, since I frankly didn't want to part with $2,000 or more. What I learned was that basically unless you spend above $1500, your not really getting quality. I read countless reviews and the reason I picked the Captiva was price and performance reviews. Almost all of the elliptical companies write their own reviews and rate their own products so I had to dig a bit to find the few reviews I could that where not paid spokes people or a "set up" site by the manufacturer. When i called the people at Yowza, they actually knew what they where selling. As for the machine, now that I have had it for about 35 days, I have had no issues with workmanship. It does what they say it does plain and simple. I have lost about 10 lbs since starting the use and actually look forward to using the machine. It wont be another coat rack. It makes very little noise, nothing feels "cheap" and there is no wobble when you use it. Overall, well worth the money. | 5 | | M Conley | CaptivaPro:
Quiet - I mean really quiet Solid I am 6'2" 285 and I feel secure and stable
Easy to put together (except for center shrowd)Bags hold parts for each step, all tools needed are included.
Con:
Screws for center shrowd do not fit. I am not sure if the parts are wrong, or the holes are wrong. But it took a power screwdriver and new screws to get it installed like the diagram asked. Its only a cosmetic part, but what a pain! Its one of the earlier steps so frustation got really high and I started to 2nd guess my purchase.
Computer: It works, its just not intuitive. Not nearly as impressive as the unit. Every thing is P1, M1, U1, L1. I did get is set up with the manual and it does work.
Even with the flaws, I would happily spend the money again. I am looking forward to 6'2" 205 :) | 5 | | J.B. | Quite Pleased! From the time I placed my order with white glove delivery it took 14 business days to arrive. It actually arrived at the local trucking warehouse a week earlier but I suppose because I'm in a more rural area it took a while to schedule us in. Took two professionals nearly 50 minutes to unpack and put it together. I'm a 45 yo F, 5'5" and have regularly been working out on a Nordic Trak elliptical - this Captiva far surpasses the NT as far as operation, it is so much smoother! Calorie burn between the two: similar 40 minute workout on the NT shows about a 50% more burn than on the Captiva so I suspect the NT overestimated, OR the truth lies somewhere between the two since the Captiva seems a little low. I didn't think that I was getting much of a core workout while I was on the machine, certainly didn't feel it but days later and I'm eating my words. Still don't feel it while working out but the next day I can definitely feel the effect, esp in the waist area. The range of motion is great. The program options are good and varied. My feet tend to hurt after 20 mins while on ellipticals in general, not so on the Captiva at all so there's something good to be said for the footbed! The sound from the iPod speakers is ok. I like to read while working out and I do miss the lip/ledge to put my Kindle or magazine on. The only other complaint I have is that I find the placement of the power cord to be odd, it comes from the back of the machine and isn't particularly long. | 5 | | Jose V. | Captiva ReviewI received the captiva 5 days after placing the order .. Impressive.. Once I assembled the captiva it had some squeaking on core motion, Yowza fixed the issue by forwarding some lubrication for the handles . Problem Solved. Very sturdy elliptical, nice range of motion and workout programs, the unique core motion ( when done correctly) effectively engages my abs with out aggressively getting them sore. I did my homework prior to this investment and I can honestly say Yowza exceeded my expectations...... ( The only thing I would add is an mp3 input along with its I- pod docking station)
BY the way I liked Yowza so much I just ordered the Keewadin treadmill. | 4 | | Marie G. | Now I am motivated!!!What a high intensity workout! I love being able to change my stride on a whim and talk about the workout to my mid-section...Phew! I am looking forward to a stronger me!!! I am glad I went with the white glove delivery... missed the special though! | 5 | | Robinson Family Dallas, TX | Captiva adjusts to fit our whole familyWe have four users, I am 6'3", my wife and two girls range from 5'1" - 5'7" and overall we are extremely pleased with this company and the product and the way it works your stomach. | 4 | | Ted M. Urbana, IL | Good overall workout hereJust got my Captiva 2009 unit. It took a total of 11 days form when I ordered it. Put it together last evening with my son and it took us 40 minutes since I never read directions. Only used it for a few minutes but it feels real nice. I didn't realize that at first I was pedaling in reverse and it really works your thighs that way. Then I got the hang of it and I feel it in my abs and all over. | 5 | Write a review of your own
